electricity consumption latvia
Study on electricity consumption trends in the Baltics and Nordics
Average total annual electricity demand in Latvia in the last 10 years has been approximately 7 TWh, and the current trend is inclined towards decrease of consumption. Although currently Latvia is net electricity importer [1-3], if the abovementioned generation development plans are realised, generation would exceed local demand.

Lithuania: Energy Country Profile
A few points to note about this data: Renewable energy here is the sum of hydropower, wind, solar, geothermal, modern biomass and wave and tidal energy. Traditional biomass – the burning of charcoal, crop waste, and other organic matter – is not included. This can be an important energy source in lower-income settings.
In 2021 consumption of renewables 3 % higher than a year ago
During a five-year period (from 2017 to 2021), due to annual fluctuations in the electricity volume produced by hydroelectric power plants, gross consumption of renewables has decreased by 8 % (0.6 PJ). Gross consumption of fuelwood over the period has increased by 5.2 % (3.1 PJ) and reached 62.6 PJ in 2021.
