Apple''s Carbon Removal Strategy
committed to reduce emissions by 75 percent compared with 2015 levels by the end of the decade, and balance residual emissions with high-quality ... similarly begins with a steep reduction in our comprehensive carbon footprint. We aim to reduce emissions by 75 percent compared with our fiscal year 2015 footprint by 2030, and 90 percent by 2050 ...
Could the digital economy increase renewable energy and reduce …
The digital economy is considered important to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. This paper explores the impact of the digital economy on carbon emissions and renewable energy development using panel data for 67 countries from 2005–2019. The results show that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between …
Progress to-date on carbon emissions reductions | Portland.gov
Reduced methane emissions from landfills and more composting and recycling. Figure 1: Carbon emission trends in Multnomah County have been significantly below U.S. trends in most years since 2002. Despite Portland''s steeper emissions reductions, the data shows how much broader national economic conditions.
Black Carbon Diesel Initiative in the Russian Arctic | US EPA
On October 6-7, 2011, EPA engaged in two days of initial workshops in Moscow, Russia on Diesel Emissions, Pollution Mitigation, and Clean and Alternative Technologies in the Arctic. These workshops gathered a broad range of governmental, NGO, and academic participants and experts. ... The result was reduced black carbon …
The low carbon development options for Russia | Climatic Change
The "active decarbonization" scenario is feasible from a technological perspective, with carbon emissions reduced by 83% from 2010 levels (88% below 1990 levels) by 2050. ... Moscow, IAC "Energia", 272 pp. [in Russian]; Costs and benefits of low-carbon transformation in Russia. Perspectives by 2050 and beyond, Ed. I. Bashmakov, …
Reducing emissions | Boston.gov
In 2018, the Boston community emitted 6.4 million metric tons of greenhouse gases (GHGs). Emissions came from energy use: in buildings and other facilities, and. from transportation. This is an almost 4 percent increase from 2017. Overall, Boston''s 2017 emissions represent a 20 percent decrease from 2005.
How road network transformation may be associated with reduced …
Nineteen Chinese cities reduced carbon emissions by 848 thousand tons, 1.676 million tons, and 2.524 million tons, respectively, under the three scenarios (See more detail in supplementary file). This reduction equates to a decrease in fossil fuel use of 408 thousand tons, 806 thousand tons, and 1.214 million tons, respectively, accounting for ...
The evidence is clear: the time for action is now. We can halve
For 1.5°C (2.7°F), this means achieving net zero carbon dioxide emissions globally in the early 2050s; for 2°C (3.6°F), it is in the early 2070s. This assessment shows that limiting warming to around 2°C (3.6°F) still requires global greenhouse gas emissions to peak before 2025 at the latest, and be reduced by a quarter by 2030.
Morocco: CO2 Country Profile
Energy intensity – shown in the chart above – is one important metric to monitor whether countries are making progress in reducing emissions. The other key part of this equation is carbon intensity: the amount of CO 2 emitted per unit of energy. We can reduce emissions by (1) using less energy; and/or (2) using lower-carbon energy.
Projection of urban expansion and related changes in soil carbon …
The highest increase of both topsoil and subsoil soil organic carbon stocks occurred in the New Moscow scenario with the highest urbanization. ... both assessing and predicting the impact of land use changes on carbon storage are necessary to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate climate change. Therefore, using integrated valuation of …

The race to zero emissions, and why the world depends on it
2010-2019 is the warmest decade on record. On the current path of carbon dioxide emissions, the global temperature is expected to increase by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius by the end of century. To avoid the worst of warming (maximum 1.5°C rise), the world will need to decrease fossil fuel production by roughly 6 per cent per year between 2020 and 2030.
